Lesley Chok MS, CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

I have been a nationally certified speech-language pathologist since 2015 and am licensed to practice in two states (Illinois and California). I have been living on Chicago’s North Shore since January 2020. I have been lucky to work as a pediatric speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, client’s homes, preschools, hospitals and schools. Also, I have experience working and collaborating on cases with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educational therapists. I have worked across the life span, from toddlers to geriatrics, though most of my experience is preschool through school-age children and adolescents. Throughout my experiences, I have helped clients and their families with a wide range of diagnoses, including articulation/speech sound disorders, phonological disorders, voice disorders, dysfluency (stuttering), and language disorders, including autism spectrum disorder. I am a strong believer in home programming to see improvement and encourage parents to join our therapy sessions. Keeping therapy functional and goal-oriented is important to me, and I structure sessions to provide adequate support so that your child will feel successful. I am confident I can help you and your family. During my free time, you can find me reading, running and spending time with my husband and two children.

Lesley was very friendly and approachable. She did a great job of engaging with my son and helped him progress a lot. She was very flexible about scheduling too.

Lesley has been making great progress with [my son] in a short amount of time. We are very pleased.

Lesley always calls me after the sessions to update me on the work they are doing and things she is noticing, as well as what we can do at home to work on the issue that Lesley identified in [my daughter's] speech. Lesley is always willing to listen to my questions and provide very thorough and clinical answers (which I much appreciate!)

Lesley is wonderful. No-nonsense (what [my son] needs) but fun and she is super encouraging which he really responds to. I can definitely see improvements when he is concentrating which is fantastic. So happy she can come to us as it makes it very convenient. She is great.
