Sessions are provided in your child’s home or school. We will work together to find the best environment for your child to receive therapy. For parents that live out of our treatment area, we offer teletherapy services.

We love it when parents or caregivers are able to participate. When involved in a session, parents are able to implement strategies outside of therapy (which is always beneficial). That said, we understand that your schedule may not allow you to sit in or that your child may work better independently. Your therapist will work with your to create a plan to make sure you’re always in the loop on your child’s progress.

If your child is unable to participate in a scheduled session, please cancel your session via our client portal a minimum of 24 hours in advance.  The late cancellation / no show fee is $50 and is not billable to insurance. That said, we understand that children may present symptoms of illness the morning of his/her therapy session.  Parents will not be penalized for late cancellations due to illness.  If you do need to cancel the same day as services, please text your therapist in addition to cancelling the appointment via our client portal.

Please contact us at billing@therapyworks.com or call 312.780.0820 and we’ll make sure your questions are answered.

When your child is evaluated, your therapist will make a recommendation the frequency of treatment and provide you with a general idea of the length of therapy. Most families receive therapy 1-3 times per week. Every other week or once a month often works well for children that are easing out of therapy to ensure that they maintain skills. We will work with you to find a schedule that enables your child to succeed.

We are happy to check your insurance coverage before getting started. For Illinois clients, we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. We bill as “out of network” providers for all other insurance plans. Your insurance provider is billed after each session. Once we hear back from your insurance company we will process the credit card on file or provide you with an invoice for any amount that was not covered by insurance.

All therapy sessions are 45 minutes in length.

If your child has not been evaluated within the past 12 months, we will conduct an evaluation and write new treatment plan prior to getting started. The evaluation is conducted at your child’s first scheduled session. Your therapist will provide you with treatment goals, frequency recommendations and a general idea of the length of treatment.

If you have a current evaluation report, your child will not need to be re-evaluated. You child’s therapist will review the relevant report(s) prior to getting started.

Parent and caregiver communication is very important to us. We will work together to ensure that your child is successful in meeting their goals. If you are not able to attend your child’s session, your therapist will send a re-cap and recommendations after the session. We are always available and willing to answer questions, provide recommendations and brainstorm solutions for your child. We love to collaborate with teachers and other team members.

Invoices will be sent via e-mail around mid-month and again at month end. TherapyWorks clients keep a credit card on file and are charged twice monthly (for charges not covered  by insurance). Let us know if you would like to make alternative payment arrangements.

Depending on your location, we may be able to get started right away. If there is not a therapist available we will add you to our waitlist and reach out when we have someone in your area.

We are not “in-network” with any HMO providers but bill as “out of network” providers. If you have questions about your coverage please contact us at billing@therapyworks.com or 312.780.0820.
