Amy Briggs MA, CCC-SLP

Speech And Language Pathologist

Amy is a licensed and certified speech and language pathologist, and member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). As an undergraduate, Amy studied musical theatre and received her BFA from Syracuse University, where she was transformed by life changing experiences working with children with Down Syndrome and Autism. Following the completion of her BFA, Amy moved to New York City, where she worked at The McCarton School (now the Keswell School), a leading private day school and treatment center for children with autism. She returned to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in speech and language pathology at SUNY Buffalo, where she conducted research in the Child Language Lab as a graduate researcher. Upon graduation, Amy was awarded the Jack L. Weber Award for Excellence in Child Language Disorders, highlighting her research and clinical commitment to treatment of childhood speech and language disorders. Following her Master’s program, Amy worked in public schools for 7 years, and maintained a small private client caseload, addressing a wide variety of speech and language disorders, and collaborating with families and teams to ensure maximal success for her students/clients. Most recently, Amy served as the Assistive Technology Specialist for a North Shore school district, working to create strong instructional matches for children within the general education curriculum by leveraging technology tools. Amy believes that children learn best through joyful, connected, and meaningful experiences, individually tailored to each child’s strengths and needs. She incorporates leading edge clinical interventions, her fine arts training, and her clinical intuition and expertise into a unique, multimodal, and effective treatment model. Amy believes that all children can learn and grow, and feels honored to help children succeed, and to support their families along the way. When Amy is not engaged in work with her clients and families, she loves spending time with her two daughters, husband, and yellow lab, Greta.
