Mission critical

Since its founding in 2017, TherapyWorks has championed a relationship-based approach to speech, occupational and physical therapies. In 2023, with the addition of applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, TherapyWorks opened a multidisciplinary clinic space in Northfield, Illinois. Today, the highly experienced team of therapists of more than 200-strong works daily to further the company’s founding mission of helping children thrive by providing high-quality, collaborative pediatric therapy that puts patients and families first.

Our story

Co-founders Erin Vollmer and Michelle Worth embarked on their pediatric therapy journey having been personally touched by the challenges many face and dream to overcome.

Erin credits her desire to become a speech pathologist to her uncle, Bob Gartland, who had cerebral palsy and communicated using a simple communication board attached to his wheelchair. Erin knew early on in life that she wanted to surround herself with people like Bob and would go on to study speech pathology in order to work toward making communication easier and more accessible for children with disabilities.

Michelle experienced the need for a new approach to pediatric therapy firsthand. One of her children went through speech and language therapy, so she brings the unique and authentic perspective of being a parent of a child with a speech and language challenge to thrive beyond.

The two would eventually team up to realize their shared vision of bringing world-class therapists into the comfort of patients’ homes — whether in person or remotely — to remove one of many obstacles facing children with challenges that can be overcome through expert care.

That vision exists today as TherapyWorks.
