Karlie Tarran MS, CCC-SLP

Speech Therapist

I have worked in Chicago Charter Schools since the 2016/2017 school year. Prior to that, I started my career working with adults in skilled nursing facilities targeting cognition, memory, communication, and swallowing disorders. After transitioning to the school system, I have found that I really love working with children. I have worked with pre-school through 12th grade, but find myself drawn to the elementary age. I have experience with articulation disorders, stuttering, expressive and receptive language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and social-pragmatic disorders (and a lot in between). I love learning alongside children to help them find the best way to succeed in school and with their communication as a whole! It's a team effort to build these skills and it's a joy working with families and support systems to help children be the best learners possible. When I'm not working as an SLP, I have plenty to keep me busy! I have a middle-aged Australian Shepherd who is spoiled rotten. I also really enjoy traveling and cooking (and love when the two are combined)!

Karlie is so upbeat, pleasant and thorough. She understood my concerns & addressed therapy sessions with a variety of strategies that I can continue to use. Karlie also took time to check back with me for any additional feedback. -TherapyWorks Client
