Speech Therapist
My experience as a speech-language pathologist includes treating young children through early intervention services and school-age children within home, clinic, and school settings. I have a strong interest in delays and disorders related to receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonology, and social language. I create individualized treatment plans and therapy sessions, develop personalized support materials, and collect and document weekly progress. One of the best things about being a speech-language pathologist is seeing a child’s confidence grow as their speech and language skills develop. I am passionate about empowering children to take ownership of their learning while providing them with the support and encouragement they need.
Fun Fact: Each year in May, I enjoy the 5 million vibrant tulips the City of Holland, Michigan plants for their annual Tulip Time festival. As a born and raised "Hollander", it is one of my favorite times of the year!

Each year in May, I enjoy the 5 million vibrant tulips the City of Holland, Michigan plants for their annual Tulip Time festival. As a born and raised “Hollander”, it is one of my favorite times of the year! 
I am consistently impressed with Miss Emily and how much our daughter has accomplished under her guidance. We are so happy that we found her when our daughter was pre-school aged. Some of her speech issues we assumed would resolve on their own, some we weren't even fully aware of. But in just about a year, we have seen a huge improvement overall. It's wonderful to have our very verbal daughter's issues with intelligibility melt away. Miss Emily is friendly, warm, and patient - she is attuned to the child's needs and moods, knows when to push a little harder, or when to take a step back. Thank you, Miss Emily!
