I have been a practicing speech therapist in the Chicago area for the last six years. I started in the schools working with Kindergarteners through 21-year-olds in a high school special education program in Oak Park as well as in a west side charter elementary school for children in both general and special education. Following my first two years in the schools, I transitioned to providing home and school-based services for the next four years through a private clinic and early intervention for birth to 8-year-olds. I truly love working with the pediatric population and have experience in a wide range of diagnoses and severities including Autism, Apraxia, Down Syndrome, Articulation/Phonological Disorders, Language Delays, Cognitive Impairments, low and high tech AAC devices, trachs and valves, and social and pragmatic delays. Most recently, I ran a preschool readiness group for 2 to 4-year-olds focusing on a variety of early academic skills from a speech and language perspective to support their transition into school-based services. I have since returned to working in the schools currently work with special education students at a K-8 charter school in Avondale. I am excited to be part of the TherapyWorks team to provide additional after school and summer services and look forward to helping your child expand their communication skills.
When I am not working with my speech and language kiddos you can find me exploring Logan Square with my rescue puppy Marvin. We are fans of wandering down the boulevard, meeting new puppy and human friends, and stopping for snacks at all the dog-friendly patios in our neighborhood!
